Who We Are

Family of Believers

Here at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, we follow the leadership of the ELCA-sharing a living, daring confidence in God’s grace. We focus on serving our neighbors, growing our faith, and connecting with Christ. We believe our purpose is to do God’s work with Our Hands wherever the need is: our congregation, our community, our country, or our brothers and sisters around the world.  We value the gifts of people of all ages, races, ethnicities, religions (or no religion at all), abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. We value families and believe church should be a place where kids can be seen and heard. Each Sunday, we provide children’s ministries alongside our regular services, including Children’s Church and Sunday School. We invite all who believe in Jesus to join in communion at the Lord’s table every Sunday. If you can’t attend in-person, you are invited to join us online through Facebook Live. (You do not need a Facebook account to view our service, you just need an internet connection).

Our History

Spiritual Path

Prince of Peace has been an active and vital member of the Woodridge community for 60 years. Our congregation’s spiritual journey began in an elementary school gym in 1961. Our charter was signed in 1962 and our church building was completed in 1967, with several renovations and additions over the years. We are a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America – the largest Lutheran denomination in the United States.  A significant part of our mission has us partnering with various community organizations and building relationships to help provide resources for those in need, from our own parishioners, to school students, to seniors.
